Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a program, through Samaritan’s Purse, that collects shoeboxes filled with items such as toys, school supplies, and hygiene items and distributes them to underprivileged children throughout the world. It also spreads the Gospel to these children, many of whom have never heard the story of Jesus before.

Since 1993, over 188 million shoeboxes have been distributed in more than 170 countries. Ascension has collected over 1,500 shoeboxes since we first started participating in this program in 2013.

  • Kick-off this year is October 23rd (Shoeboxes will be available in the Narthex and Fellowship Hall starting on October 23rd.)
  • Last day to turn in your shoeboxes is November 20th
  • Our goal this year is 205 boxes!
