Worship Time
Divine Service is on Sundays at 9:30 A.M.
How We Worship
In the Divine Service, God invites us into His presence to receive the blessings of His grace through Word and Sacrament. We praise Him for all the blessings that we receive. Through music and prayer, we utilize our God-given gifts and talents to thank and praise our God who gives to us so generously in His Son Jesus Christ.
Traditional liturgy with a selection of blended music is what you can expect most Sundays. Our services include a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary songs played by organ and/or praise band. We also have special music from our choir and bell choir from time to time.
We celebrate Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month and for Feast Day Services (i.e. Easter, Pentecost, Ash Wednesday, etc.).
Children in the Divine Service
At Ascension we believe the Divine Service is a gift form God to His children of all ages. We welcome and encourage families and children to participate in the Divine Service; we enjoy and encourage their presence in the service as these divine gifts are for the little children too! Nearly all our services have a children’s sermon for the kids and once children reach a certain ages they can participate in the service as Acolytes and help their families set up the altar before the service. Activity bags and children’s bulletins are available in the Narthex for families to use during the services. While we encourage children to remain in the service to worship, we do understand parents may need to step out with their children. We have a nursery available for this purpose. It is equipped with TV that is connected to the livestream of the service.
